MVP Special Edition Fission Octane
A GolfDisco.com Exclusive designed by the Hot Stamp Guru himself, Skeet Scienski.
"Dragon's Nest"
This design pays Homage to the "Gauntlet" from Hornets Nest Disc Golf Course in Charlotte, NC. If you haven't played the Gauntlet before, let me explain. It is a par 3 that demands the best shot you can muster through the narrowest of corridors!
Standing on the tee-pad, favorite disc in hand, you will be trying to convince yourself that the gap is wider than it is! As you release the disc your entire card holds their breath, watching as your disc sails through the tiniest of gaps. Celebration erupts if you make it to the green and you will carry that feeling of victory with you for the rest of the day no matter your final score. However, your card-mates will flinch with you if the tiniest of branches knocks you off course and into the surrounding dungeon!
Even if you haven't played this exact hole, I am sure you have played one like it! Skeet has captured what it feels like standing on that teepad! Victory is right there in front of you, within your grasp, yet impending doom is all around just waiting to devour you! Do you dare enter the Dragon's Nest!!
SPEED 13, GLIDE 5, TURN -1, FADE 2
The MVP Octane is a stable-understable distance driver from the new high speed 23mm class. Octane falls in the general stability lineage of Switch, Amp, Inertia, and Wave, with a slight-turn profile that holds long and straight until its fade finish. The 23mm Octane is designed to be relatively less understable than its 21.5mm counterpart Wave. Average throwers should see straight flights with fade, while power throwers will be able to hyzerflip for max distance and tailwind lines.
With the newest Fission Blend you get the great grip of Neutron Plastic but with lower weights available than ever before!
The Octane has become my go to distance driver. I throw them from 158 - 167g and they just go! I'm not a 400' of distance guy, but I can consistently get them 350-385'. They handle a light wind with only a little drift before coming back at the end. In heavy winds they will hold a turn for you.
This Dragon's Nest stamp is really sick. My son calls it the Pretzel Dragon.
